Heather Gehan considers herself lucky to be a Sarasota native, raised in one of the most beautiful parts of the Sunshine State. Her love for being on the water was fostered at a young age by her family, who were avid boaters and scuba divers. Many happy memories were made exploring all our area has to offer, from our white sand beaches to our clear, turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. After graduating from high school, Heather attended college in Asheville, North Carolina and holds a B.F.A. from the University of North Carolina Asheville. A true creative at heart, after college, Heather completed an extended work-study program at Penland School of Crafts and focused on her medium of clay, creating functional ceramics.
Following Penland, an opportunity arose to live in Marseille, France for two years and teach business English to professionals, so Heather jumped at the chance to enjoy life abroad and travel around Europe. After her time abroad, Heather decided she wanted to live closer to family and to enjoy the culture and lifestyle that Sarasota offers. Heather made the move back to her hometown, where she has permanently resided since 2009. She is very blessed to be raising three children in this fantastic community and loves taking them on all kinds of fun Florida adventures, similar those she experienced growing up. Heather enjoys time at the beach with her family, boating with friends, camping trips to the natural springs in their RV, volunteering at her children's school and rooting on her kids at their sports games.
Having a deep knowledge of the Sarasota area as a local and having a wide circle of family and friends in the area, it was natural for Heather to begin a career in real estate. She loves making connections with her clients, getting to know them and their families, and getting to know more about their real estate goals and motivation for making a move. Heather believes to be a great Realtor, it's not just about getting a home sold, but is largely about building a relationship with her clients as a trusted real estate advisor that they can turn for guidance throughout the years.
