Joan Chen

About

Joan grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and from a young age, took an interest in music. She mastered piano and voice, and to this day enjoys music as a means of therapy. Joan often traveled to New York with her family to their second home in Scarsdale to enjoy theater and the arts.
Joan graduated from The Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, Japan, studying voice and piano. As the only foreign student in her college, she became fluent in Japanese language. After living in Japan for more than four years, Joan became immersed in the Japanese culture. After graduation, Joan commuted between Taipei and New York.
Traveling throughout the world broadened Joan's appreciation for diversity among different cultures. She discovered Hawaii with her mother and brother while on vacation and loved the weather and natural beauty of the island. Her family eventually settled in Honolulu and made this their home.
Joan's circle of friends encouraged her to get her real estate license because of her charismatic personality. She finally decided to take the leap in 2013 and discovered her passion in real estate.
Talking, living, and breathing real estate comes natural to Joan. She loves helping people and especially enjoys the challenge of turning any obstacle into an opportunity. Joan's diverse, multicultural background and appreciation of different cultures allows her to understand the importance of empathy with everyone. She willingly shares her knowledge with others. As a long-time resident in Kakaako, Joan has extensive knowledge of luxury condominiums in the urban core and is often the "go to" person when others want to learn more about real estate opportunities.
In her spare time, Joan enjoys listening to classical music, theater and the arts, salsa dancing, and traveling around the world.
